Catalysis
Patent Portfolio
KSE holds numerous patents on the composition, manufacture and application of various inorganic heterogeneous catalysts. Over the past 30 years the company has developed an impressive patent portfolio of highly active catalysts used in oxidation or dehydration of organic molecules. Catalyst development is one of the core competencies of KSE, and it is also an area with significant growth potential due to the rapidly increasing demand for biomass conversion technologies requiring new specialized catalysts.
Catalyst Development
KSE has considerable experience in the development of inorganic heterogeneous catalysts designed for specific applications. KSE's staff of experienced scientists and engineers routinely evaluate the performance of newly synthesized catalysts compositions and structures. In the past this work has led to the development of new catalysts with applications in everything from toxic air pollutant destruction, chemical dehydration and polymer synthesis.
Catalyst Production
KSE has a complete catalyst manufacturing facility. This facility includes equipment for catalyst impregnation, coprecipitation, aquagel production, aerogel production equipment, and ion exchange. The facility also contains equipment for drying and calcining catalysts, as well as instruments used for catalyst surface area measurements.
